Kuala Lumpur (KL) a city that is diverse in many ways. It’s a mix of nationalities, cultures and religions. On top of that, there is a clear division between the business centre where the skyscrapers businessmen and touristy parts are and the suburbs where the locals live which basically are villages on their own. I will be here for a couple of weeks to capture life on the streets of this metropol in my street photography Kuala Lumpur Series. One topic in this series is children refugees. I visited the Alliance of Chin Refugees (ACR) learning centre. In this school Burmese refugee youths are educated while waiting for resettlement. Although these kids went through a lot in their young lives already, I was happy to capture the joy in their eyes.
